Giants favored in interleague play

The Detroit Tigers might finally be realizing some of the massive potential baseball fans saw in them before the season began. Detroit finished off a three-game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday (their second series sweep in a row).
However, the Tigers still trail the Chicago White Sox by six games in the AL Central, and they'll need to keep their hot streak going this week against the San Francisco Giants to continue to cut into that lead.
The Tigers send Justin Verlander to the mound on Monday, with the would-be ace looking to continue his rebound from a poor start to the season.
After beginning the season 2-9 (he didn't have that many losses all last year) Verlander finally looked like his own self last time out in a win over the White Sox, pitching a complete-game four-hitter and allowing only one run.
The Giants, who opened as -115 moneyline favorites at online sportsbook , send their own young gun to the hill on Monday - hard-throwing Tim Lincecum. Lincecum is second in the National League with a miniscule 1.99 ERA, and he's only taken a single loss all season (he's 8-1).
Lincecum is undefeated in his last eight starts at 4-0. As well, he should have picked up a win instead of a no-decision in his last start, pitching seven shutout innings in a 1-0 Giants defeat.
Oddsmakers believe the pitching duel will result in a low-scoring contest as the total opened at 7. Click here for more details, the latest MLB odds and more fun baseball wagers.
