Hamels, Lincecum fire for Phils, Giants

Two aces will take to the mound in Washington and Colorado on Tuesday night but unfortunately for the hometown fans, neither ace will be hurling for the Nationals or the Rockies.
The Phillies send Cole Hamels to the hill to face Washington on Tuesday, coming off the first complete-game shutout of his career. Hamels blanked the Braves over nine innings his last time out, allowing only four hits while striking out six.
Hamels faced the Nationals in his first start of the season and was a hard-luck loser in a 1-0 Phillies defeat after allowing only one run in eight innings. He was staked to an opening -160 road moneyline advantage at online sportsbook .
Getting the start for Washington is Jason Bergmann. Bergmann may be 1-1 with a 7.45 ERA but he's coming off a solid outing against the Mets in which he pitched seven shutout innings and allowed only three hits while racking up nine strikeouts. He didn't fare as well against the Phillies earlier this season when he was ripped for five runs on five 1-3 innings.
The top pitching matchup on Tuesday is Giants hurler Tim Lincecum (5-1, 1.92) versus Rockies sinkerballer Aaron Cook (6-2, 2.82). Lincecum picked up a no-decision in his last start, allowing three runs in six innings while striking out 10 against Houston.
Cook had his six-game winning streak snapped against Arizona in his last start after giving up five runs in five innings. Lincecum and Cook faced off earlier this season when Cook earned the win in a 3-2 Rockies victory after allowing two unearned runs in seven strong innings.
Looking ahead to Wednesday's MLB schedule, Brandon Webb goes for his league-leading tenth win versus Ricky Nolasco and the Marlins, while the Red Sox turn to former Cy Young winner Bartolo Colon against the Royals.
Colon will be making his season debut in place of the injured Clay Buchholz and throws on the heels of John Lester's no-hitter Monday night.
