Home teams underdogs in Interleague betting

The final weekend of interleague play this season means it's time for the MLB schedule-makers to once again turn out their geographical rivalries.
Some of them actually mean something like the Yankees and Mets, Cubs and White Sox, and Cincinnati at Cleveland, while others such as Baltimore and Washington and the Angels and Dodgers will have to provide their own excitement.
This weekend's Yankees/Mets series gives fans an extra treat because due to a rainout earlier in the season there is a home-and-home doubleheader on Friday at both Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium. Click here to view the matchup report, pitcher comparison and other key baseball handicapping data.
Game 1 early in the day takes place in the Bronx, with Mike Pelfry (4-6, 4.30) starting for the Mets and Dan Giese (1-2, 0.64) taking the mound for the Yankees. Game 2 back in Flushing has Sidney Ponson (4-1, 3.80) making his debut for the Yankees while Pedro Martinez (2-1, 6.57) gets the call for the Mets.

Cincinnati turns to recent call-up Daryl Thompson (0-0, 0.00), who pitched five shutout innings in his Major League debut last week. The Reds swept the Indians in a three-game series in Cincinnati just last month.
The Windy City battle between the Cubs and White Sox gets started on Friday with Sean Gallagher (3-3, 3.97) on the mound for the Cubs and Jose Contreras (6-6, 3.96) getting the ball for the Sox.
Gallagher is 0-2 in his last three starts despite sporting a 2.81 ERA, while Contreras is 0-3 in his last three starts which includes getting rocked by the Cubs for nine runs in his last outing. The Cubs are 3-0 against the White Sox so far this season and opened as small -115 road favorites.
Baltimore and Washington open up on Friday with Daniel Cabrera (5-3, 4.46) starting for the Orioles and Odalis Perez (2-5, 4.09) starting for the Nationals. Cabrera is winless in his last six starts, while the Orioles roughed up Perez for six runs on 11 hits in five innings back in May. Baltimore took two-of-three from Washington in that series.
Cabrera opened as a -135 moneyline favorite on the road at .
In the Angels and Dodgers matchup on Friday, the Angels' Joe Saunders (11-3, 3.04) takes on the Dodgers' Chan Ho Park (2-2, 2.83).
