Bet on US Olympic basketball – Men are favored by 28.5 pts vs. China
How to Bet on Golf
Betting on golf is an age-old custom, both for those hacking their way around 18 holes and for those betting on Tiger Woods to win the Masters. And while there are numerous forms of golf betting, the two most popular are odds to win and golfer head to head betting.
Golf Matchup Betting
Similar to head to head betting in NASCAR, you are presented with a golfing pair to bet on. You choose whether Tiger Woods will defeat Vijay Singh, for example, at the US Open.
Example:
Tiger Woods -200
Vijay Singh +170
You must wager $200 on Woods to win $100. On the underdog Singh, you wager $100 to win $170.
You may also see golf betting where Woods, Singh, Phil Mickelson and some other top golfers are paired in a group. You must pick one of them to finish highest in the tournament and wager accordingly.
Golf Tournament Odds
You can also wager on which golfer will win the entire tournament. In the scenario above (and in most cases), Tiger Woods would be favored, perhaps at 5/1. Singh might by 8/1 and Mickelson 12/1. This is tougher proposition because the golfer must win the tournament, not simply finisher ahead of another golfer in the final standings.
Not every golfer in the field may be listed on the golf betting odds list. If you have a hunch that some relative unknown can win the tournament, you can pick the ‘field’ which gives you every other golfer NOT listed in the odds. You can often derive excellent golf betting value this way.
