Perry great odds in US Bank Championship

advertisement

You don't have to be an early riser to enjoy some golf this week. While the upper-echelon of the PGA head to England this week for the Open Championship, the rest of the Tour will be looking for a payday in what has to be considered an easier field at the US Bank Championship in Milwaukee at Brown Deer Park.

Not all of the best golfers in the world will be in England this week, though. Kenny Perry has once again snubbed the Major crowd and will play in the US Bank Championship this week instead. Perry has been on a Tiger-like streak lately after posting his third win of the season last week in the John Deere Classic.

Perry outdueled both Brad Adamonis and Jay Williamson in a playoff to capture the win, his second in a row and third in his last five tournaments. Perry is of course the favorite to win again this week at 7/2 at .

Last season at Brown Deer Park Joe Ogilvie recorded his first career PGA Tour win. Ogilvie shot 14-under par in the tournament for a four-stroke victory over Charlie Wi, Tim Clark, and Tim Herron, who all ended up at 10-under.

Ogilvie could have a hard time repeating as champion unless he greatly improves his game. Ogilvie has only two Top-10 results so far this season, and he's finished well out of the Top 25 in his last four Tour stops. Over at Ogilvie is a 50/1 underdog to win again at Brown Deer Park.

Other former Championship winners scheduled to return to Brown Deer Park this week include two-time winners Corey Pavin and Carlos Franco, and 2001 winner Shigeki Maruyama.

Pavin, whose two wins came 20 years apart in 2006 and 1986, is a 30/1 underdog at , while Franco, who won in 2004 and 1999, has been dumped into the field at 5/2.

Maruyama has withdrawn or missed the cut in five of his last six tournaments and is a 100/1 longshot to climb back on top of the leaderboard this week.
