Kobe Bryant said the NBA Finals weren't over, and he made good on his word on Sunday night after leading the Lakers to a victory in Game 5. The win sends the Finals back to Boston for Game 6, where the Celtics will either win a championship at home or the Lakers will force a deciding Game 7.

The Lakers may have won 103-98 on Sunday night but they failed to cover the 7.5 point spread, which dropped Los Angeles to 0-5 ATS in the series. Bryant led the way with a team-high 25 points for the Lakers and Lamar Odom came through with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Pau Gasol stepped up and had 19 points and 13 rebounds, both highs for him in this series so far.

Paul Pierce poured in a game-high 38 points and added six rebounds and eight assists for Boston in a losing effort. Ray Allen deposited 16 points, while Kevin Garnett had a disappointing night with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

The Lakers may have won on Sunday night, but it was far from smooth sailing in the victory. It looked like a flashback to Game 4 after the Lakers jumped out to big lead only to have the Celtics hang around and make a game of it.

Los Angeles mounted a 19-point lead on Sunday night, but Boston pulled within two before the Lakers woke up and put them game away on a message-sending slam dunk by Bryant. It will be up to Bryant to lead the Lakers again on Tuesday in another do-or-die situation.
