Chalk cover big in NBA playoff series

The Pistons and Hornets both stormed out to a 1-0 series lead, and they'll look to take full control with another win as both series reach Game 2 on Monday night.
The Pistons pounded Orlando 92-71 as a 6.5-point favorite in Game 1 on Saturday. Detroit and Orlando split their season series 2-2, but Detroit has owned the Magic in the playoffs winning eight straight against them in the postseason, including Saturday's easy win.

The Hornets made short work of the Spurs in Game 1 of their series on Saturday in a 101-82 win as a 3.5-point favorite. New Orleans actually fell behind by 11 points in the first half before taking control in the second half to coast to the easy win.
David West exploded for 30 points and nine rebounds for New Orleans, while Peja Stojakovic dropped in 22 points. Chris Paul made his presence known with a solid 17 points and 13 assists. Tony Parker led the Spurs with 23 points and five assists and Manu Ginobili added 19 points.
Tim Duncan was a non-factor in the series opener with only five points and three rebounds on 1-of-9 shooting. Even after their impressive win in Game 1 the Hornets are still only favored by 2.5-points in Game 2 at .
