Washington narrowly avoided elimination on Wednesday night with an 88-87 win over Cleveland as a 5.5-point underdog. Caron Butler hit the game-winning lay-up with 3.9 seconds left and led the Wizards with 32 points and nine rebounds in the win.
DeShawn Stevenson added 17 points for Washington, while Antawn Jamison continued to struggle with only eight points on 3-of-10 shooting. LeBron James led Cleveland with 34 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, but he missed a lay-up as time expired that would have given Cleveland the win and the series.
