Arena Football League Sunday

advertisement

The lone Arena Football League tilt on the Sunday schedule could be a blowout, as the 5-2 Chicago Rush play host to the 2-4 Grand Rapids Rampage.

The Rush are coming off a close 49-42 win over Kansas City in Week 7 in which they were an 11-point road favorite on the spread. Rush quarterback Russ Michna hit Travis LaTendresse on a 15-yard touchdown strike with only six seconds remaining to secure the victory for Chicago. Michna finished the game with 213 passing yards, four touchdowns, and an interception, and he also ran in for a score. LaTendresse led all Rush receivers with seven receptions for 68 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Rampage were hammered by Orlando last week 75-56 as a 3-point home underdog. Grand Rapids QB James MacPherson passed for 233 yards with six touchdowns and an interception in the loss. Anthony Hines caught six passes for 122 yards and two TDs for the Rampage, while Kenny Higgins hauled in three touchdowns.

The Rampage and Rush already clashed once this season back in Week 3 when Chicago whipped Grand Rapids 64-35 as a 6.5-point road favorite. Michna had 295 passing yards with five touchdowns in the win, while MacPherson threw for 204 yards with four TDs and an interception for Grand Rapids. That was Chicago’s fifth straight win over Grand Rapids, and ninth in their last 10 matchups. In those 10 games the Rush were 7-3 ATS. The oddsmakers at expect Sunday’s game to be another wipeout after setting Chicago as a 14.5-point favorite.
