Monday Night AFL odds in March

advertisement

Pigskin fans get a different kind of Monday Night Football tomorrow night when the Grand Rapids Rampage and the Kansas City Brigade clash in Week 4 Arena Football League action. Both the Rampage and the Brigade started the year off on the wrong foot at 0-2 and will be looking for their first win of the young season.

Kansas City had a long time to think about their last defeat, as they were on their bye last week and did not play. The Brigade haven’t suited up since Week 2, when they were edged by the New York Dragons 50-47 as a 6.5-point road favorite. The Dragons won the game late in the final frame when quarterback Rohan Davey hit Jason Willis in the end zone. Kansas City tried to mount a late comeback, but Brigade QB John Fitzgerald was picked off in the end zone as time expired. Fitzgerald finished the game with 238 passing yards, four TD passes, and three TD runs, but he was also picked off twice. Jerel Myers led the Brigade with 11 receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

The Rampage faced the Chicago Rush back in Week 3, and they were hammered 64-35 as a 6.5-point home underdog. Grand Rapids QB James McPherson passed for 204 yards with four touchdowns and an interception, while also running in for a score in the loss. Anthony Hines hauled in eight passes for 114 yards with a touchdown, and Kenny Higgins had a pair of TD receptions.

Grand Rapids and Kansas City clashed twice last season, with the Brigade winning both games. The Brigade defeated the Rampage 52-41 as a 7.5-point favorite at home, and recorded a 66-53 win in Grand Rapids as a 3-point favorite.
