Soccer wagering something to seriously consider

Get to the Point

By Jimmy Harris

Jimmy was talking to a buddy of his about betting recently, and he found that there's a lot of money to be made in wagering on soccer.

Right now is actually the quiet time of the year for soccer, with most of Europe taking a short break from football madness. However, there's still MLS on our side of the pond, so I figured I'll give MLS betting a try on Saturday night.

There are three games on tap, so I asked my buddy who actually knows something about soccer (unlike me) for a winning pick for my maiden voyage in MLS betting.

According to him the two games that stand out on the Saturday sked are Toronto at Colorado, and Chicago at New England. Even I know that Toronto FC sucks, but I've been told to bet on them as the underdog in Colorado on Saturday. Toronto is definitely due for a victory considering they're winless in their last six games with four losses and two draws.

My buddy pointed out to me that Colorado isn't exactly smoking right now either, and Toronto did beat them 3-1 earlier this season. So I'll take Toronto as a +205 underdog at .

Just a reminder that soccer betting really gets going next weekend, as both the EPL and the German Bundesliga get started. I've been told that Bayern Munich will be the team to beat in Germany again this year, while Manchester United's chances of repeating could hinge on the future of Cristiano Ronaldo and the health of injury-prone Wayne Rooney.
