The Indianapolis Colts will face the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV.  Both teams bring two terrific quarterbacks to Miami.  How good are the Colts’ Peyton Manning and the Saints’ Drew Brees?

The Indianapolis Colts need Dwight Freeney.  There’s no “ifs”, “ands or butts” about it.  Without Dwight Freeney, the Colts might as well play a Tampa 11 instead of a Tampa 2, dropping everybody on their defense into coverage. 

That, or they could rush Drew Brees while wearing roller skates.  The affect is going to be the same.  Brees, with time, is going to carve up the Indianapolis D the way he would slice the meat out of a settled turkey.

Which Offensive Line Will Prove Best in the Super Bowl?

The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints have two of the best offensive lines in football.  The reason I know this is because Peyton Manning, the Colts’ QB, was sacked only 10 times during the regular season.  The Saints’ Drew Brees was sacked only 20 times during the regular season.

Much has been made recently of the special relationship between New Orleans’ head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees.  Brees and Payton arrived in the bayou at the same time.  They have the same philosophy regarding how to strike at defenses.  As Brees likes to say, “Often times I know what play Sean is going to call before I hear it in my helmet.”
