Get to the Point

By Jimmy Harris

It's time for an all-important Game 3 between Pittsburgh in Philadelphia in the Stanley Cup playoffs on Wednesday night, and I've already scanned the lines and odds over at Pinnacle () and made my picks and wagers.

Before the puck dropped in Game 1 of this series, I took the Flyers as +186 underdogs in the series at Pinnacle. After dropping the first two games in Pittsburgh, the Flyers have ballooned to a huge +800 dog.

I don't think the Flyers are done yet and if they can finally get something going at home in Game 3 they'll give Pittsburgh a run for their money the rest of the way. Because of that, and because of the extreme value in a +800 line, I dropped a dime on it and will be cheering on the Flyers on Wednesday night.

Also in Wednesday night's game, I'll definitely be taking the OVER on the 5.5 total. Both Game 1 and Game 2 ended with a final score of Pittsburgh 4 Philadelphia 2, and both games went OVER the total.

The Flyers have been an OVER machine so far during their playoff run with 10-4 over/under record. Until the oddsmakers bump the total up over 5.5, I'll keep riding the OVER in this series and hopefully continue to get paid.

Judging by my futures picks, you've probably already guessed who I'm picking in Game 3 on the moneyline odds. Since I've already got a ton of cash riding on them, I've got to take the Flyers in Game 3. Heading back to the friendly confines of the Wachovia Center should get the Flyers back in this series.

Philly was 3-0 versus the Penguins at home during the regular season and they've compiled a 4-1 record at home so far in the postseason. Maybe the change of venue will also lead to a change in some of the brutal refereeing in this series, which has seen a number of calls go in favor of Pittsburgh while the Flyers are getting the shaft.

Hey ref! A hold on Sidney Crosby and a hold on Mike Richards both deserve two minutes! Get the latest moneyline odds on this game tonight by checking out the NHL live odds section here at PointSpread.com.
