The Penguins survived a triple-overtime marathon in Game 5 on Monday night to stay alive in the Stanley Cup final. Pittsburgh remains in danger of elimination with their collective backs against the wall on Wednesday night, down 3-2 with Game 6 back home at Mellon Arena.

Petr Sykora was the hero on Monday night with the game-winning goal on the power play after Jiri Hudler drew a high-sticking penalty midway through the third overtime period. Pittsburgh won 4-3 as a +235 underdog, while the seven goals scored went OVER the posted total for the first time in the series.

The Penguins jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first period behind goals from Marian Hossa and Adam Hall, but Detroit stormed back with three straight goals from Darren Helm, Pavel Datsyuk and Brian Rafalski.

With the Cup practically in Detroit's hands, Pittsburgh's Max Talbot scored with only 35 seconds remaining in the third period.

Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stood on his head for Pittsburgh in overtime with 55 saves in the win. Chris Osgood was not nearly as busy in the net for Detroit, stopping 28 of 32 shots.

If Pittsburgh can find a way to knock off the Red Wings again on Wednesday night, a seventh and deciding game will be played back in Detroit on Saturday.

Detroit is listed as a -133 favorite on the money line at to secure the Stanley Cup with a win in Game 6. The Penguins are a +123 underdog to extend the series to seven games, despite playing at home on Wednesday night.
