PGA betting moves to AT&T National
Thursday, Jul 3 2008

Golfer Robert Allenby

Tiger Woods may make an appearance on the golf course this weekend, but it won't be in a playing capacity. This week's PGA stop, the AT&T National, is Tiger's tournament to host, which he started last season.

Tiger's is out of action this weekend and every weekend for the rest of the season, so someone else will take home the trophy at the Congressional Country Club's Blue Course. See the latest golf odds and golf matchup wagers here in the PointSpread.com live golf odds section.

At last season's first-ever AT&T National, K.J. Choi topped Steve Stricker by three strokes after shooting nine-under par. Choi has one win on the Tour already this season, but that was way back in January in the Sony Open.

Recently Choi has been well back of the leaders and he's actually missed the cut in three of his last four tournaments. Because of his poor play of late, Choi is a 20/1 underdog to repeat as champion this week at .

Leading the odds at heading into Thursday's opening round is Robert Allenby at 10/1. Allenby hasn't won a tournament yet his year, but he's come very close numerous times. Allenby tied for second at the Stanford St. Jude Championship in early June and has two fourth-place finishes so far this season.

Trailing Allenby on the odds list is a trio of golfers, namely Hunter Mahan, Jim Furyk and Stuart Appleby, all at 12/1. Like Allenby, all three have come close but each golfer is still looking for their first win of the season.

Mahan had the latest close call, tying for second at the Travelers Championship two weeks ago. Furyk has been going through a rough stretch lately and hasn't turned in a solid showing since tying for seventh at the Wachovia back in May.

Appleby has cooled off recently after finishing in the Top 10 in his first five events to start the season. Get the latest AT&T National odds by clicking here [1].
