The PGA Tour, along with golf bettors galore, heads to Irving, Texas this week for the EDS Byron Nelson Classic at the TPC Four Seasons-Las Colinas.
In previous years, this event has been held on both the TPC Four Season-Las Colinas and on the Four Seasons-Cottonwood Valley courses. However after substantial renovations were done to the Las Colinas course, the entire tournament will be played solely on that course this year.
It may impact how the EDS Byron Nelson Championship odds play out this week.
At last year’s event, Scott Verplank took home the trophy after shooting 13-under par for a one-stroke victory over Luke Donald. Verplank returns to Las Colinas this week to defend his title, but he’s quite an underdog at sports betting exchange at +3000.
Other previous winners already confirmed include 2006 champion Brett Wetterich (+7000), 2005 champ Ted Purdy, 2004 champ Sergio Garcia (+2600) and 2002 champ Shigeki Maruyama.
Also included in this week’s field will be Boo Weekley. Last weekend Weekley pulled off a pretty amazing feat by winning the Verizon Heritage in back-to-back years. Weekley recorded a three-stroke victory after carding a 15-under par for 72 holes.
Finishing tied for second at 12-under par were Aaron Baddeley and Anthony Kim. Weekley is a +3000 underdog on the golf odds.
Other noteworthy golfers bettors may want to keep an eye on as Colinas this weekend include Master champions Trevor Immelman (+1600), Adam Scott (+1200), Rory Sabbatini (+1650), Chad Campbell (+3400) and Hunter Mahan (+3800).
